Corrective Actions - The “Ugly” that ain't so “Ugly”

Welcome to our 8-week Series. This is our 5th official blog post in this series. In this post, we will be talking about SeeSOR Corrective Actions (CARs) - The “Ugly” that ain't so “Ugly”

How SeeSOR changes the game for CARs

Let's be honest, most of us don’t like the idea of seeing a corrective action come up on something we are doing, but SeeSOR can help you and even your customer change the way you see CARs from here on out. Finding low inspections while in SeeSOR is easy; you can identify these by looking at our data charts or by sorting and filtering your Inspection Results. Finding these issues to start the change process is what Quality Inspections are all about. Of course, you want to brag when you are doing things correctly, but you also should brag when you find weaknesses you can correct yourself too. ASC wants to help you initiate change and track resolutions/comments about the CAR as it is taking place! SeeSOR helps you not only fix the imperfection but document it, both for the record and to prevent reoccurrence. The SeeSOR Quality Management System (QMS) lets you raise a CAR directly from the low-scoring inspection result. It also lets you classify the type of issue, for example, self-identified versus client discovered, or major versus minor versus suggested improvement. Sometimes fixing issues is all about the details; SeeSOR is designed for you to be as detail-oriented as you wish!

The negative thoughts of finding imperfections

CARs get a bad rap for pointing out negative performance issues on the contract, but let's change the mindset behind that. Finding imperfections or even deficiencies isn’t a bad thing provided you are proactive in finding them and then tracking conversations and permanent improvements in a timely manner. The goal is to stop repeat CARs in the same area and have true process improvement - this is a key indicator on our interactive dashboard. In the long run, showing that your quality checks are finding issues before your client does is a huge advantage. Then sharing your findings with your client or customer as soon as the issue is found, or better yet is resolved, is what makes SeeSOR a step above the rest. There's no need to be ashamed of inspection scores with room for improvement, because you can now see the progress from start to finish within SeeSOR, allowing for the big picture to be seen by all parties. Finding imperfections is the main reason we do quality checks and you want to have the data to prove you are doing things the right way.
